acknowledgement of country

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which I live and work, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, and pay my respects to Elders past and present. I recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, culture, and community. The sovereignty of this land was never ceded and will always be Aboriginal Land.

I would also like to acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the LGBTIQ+ community, particularly Brotherboys, Sistergirls and other gender diverse members of the community.

I endeavour to provide a culturally safe and respectful space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I recognise the ongoing impacts of colonisation, intergenerational trauma, and systemic inequity, and aim to practice with humility, openness, and respect for each person’s lived experience.
